What you wear and how you wear it can be vital to your comfort and performance on the slopes. Below is a basic guide to what you need and why. Obviously, finding the soloution that works for you is half the fun. With experience you will soon know what you can and cannot do.
  Jackets for your packets Keeping your top half warm and dry is the job of the jacket. If you are a beginner, the weather is bad or you are a powder hound, a snowproof jacket is essential. Keeping the wind out is equally, if not more important. Insulation is useful, but layers can always be added beneath the jacket.

  Pants for your ants Either are a boarder or a beginner skier, your butt will spend a long time in the snow. Having a quality pair of snowproof salopettes is essential. Again, insulation can be added underneath. It is important to ensure they can breath and seal well around your boots, or your feet will soon be wet. Pockets are also useful for money, keys, Mars bars and so on. Make sure they don't fall down as a crack full of snow is no fun at all!

  Digit covers Nothing is worse than having cold, wet hands. Your hands will be one of the most common things in the snow, so get a decent pair of gloves. Gore-tex is recommended. Don't have gloves too bulky as you won't be able to move your fingers and don't try wearing many pairs at the same time. If they are too tight, they will restrict the blood flow and you will be cold.
